THE ALL-IN-ONE BODY COMPOSITION APP
Stayhealthy has used advanced modeling techniques such as neuralnet and machine learning to analyze large data sets and develop algorithms for men, women, and children. Our research has allowed us to predict body fat percent and lean body mass percent with 98% accuracy over time using only basic profile parameters. This can all be done with a smartphone and does not require wearables. The BFI is destined to revolutionize the way individuals and healthcare professionals measure body fat, lean mass, activity, and food intake.
Stayhealthy is bringing Augmented Reality and Healthcare together.
The BFI app uses Augmented Reality (AR) to demonstrate how an individual’s biometric profile impacts his own key internal organs. Once seen, a user can view where they are on the health spectrum and be furnished the tools to set goals to manage their personal health. The BFI app specifically presents the impact of excess body fat and its impact on the major organs of the body such as the heart, liver, and kidneys as a direct, emotional provocation critical to change.
It’s critical that people understand that body fat is not something they see in the mirror. Your whole body, quality of life, and the number of years you will live are directly impacted by how much fat you are carrying. This doesn’t just apply to the major organs.
Most people do not understand that one pound of extra weight adds four pounds of extra pressure on your knees, hips, and ankles. If an individual is carrying 20 pounds of excess fat, they’re adding 80 pounds of pressure every time they take a step.
Clearly, the emotional impact made by such personalized images in 3D is compelling to users who want to see where they are at on the spectrum of health. The app also includes a number of features that tell them what they can do to improve.
"We must fight for our health, the right to choose our healthcare, and I am grateful for the Body Fact Index (BFI)!"
“For years I have told people that the Body Mass Index (BMI) is not accurate. Now I share with people that there’s a new sheriff in town and it is the Body Fact Index (BFI) app.”
“The BFI app puts the power of better health in our hands. Accurately measuring and tracking your body fat percentage is a quick and simple way to maximize personal wellness and reduce health risks associated with excess fat.”
The BFI app includes a world class activity tracker which allows you to choose from a variety of activities and to set a daily activity goal.
It also allows users to track activity and calorie intake over time and is the only app that includes the AMR and BMR. AMR (Average Metabolic Rate) is slightly different than BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate).
BMR is the number of calories your body burns in a day to keep functioning if you don’t move or eat at all (e.g. sit on a couch all day).It uses a standard equation and all the following inputs: gender, weight, height, and age.
AMR is 10% higher than BMR to account for the additional calories you burn from digesting food. AMR is a more accurate estimation of your resting caloric burn each day.
As a measure of overall health, the Body Mass Index (BMI) has been shown through Stayhealthy and many other research efforts to be inaccurate and ineffective if used as an indication of measuring body fat. Stayhealthy received FDA-clearance for the first true innovation in body fat screening since the creation of the Body Mass Index (BMI) in 1833.
Currently, BMI is still held in both the popular mind as well as in professional use (such as by insurance actuaries), as the gold standard for measuring the healthiness of the body as a number based on body weight and height, alone. It is also used over 100 million times a year. But the fact is that BMI has no direct relation to actual body fat percent even though users think it is a measure of body fat. It has also long been recognized as being highly inaccurate by the scientific and medical communities.
Stayhealthy chose to address this long-accepted standard by developing a highly accurate measurement to replace the BMI.
Dexa Scan is the “gold standard” because it is the standard technology used in research trials for body fat and lean body mass.
